The annual average precipitation is 300 mm in the main part of the territory and 400 mm in mountaineous area. There are springs, such as Janchivlan, Buuruljuut, Khundgan, Estii, Yestii, Suuj. There are lakes such as Dukhum, Davst, Gungaluutai, Tsaidam, Tsakhir. The south and western part of the territory is a pale, brown soil. The various species of trees such as siberian cedar, larch, poplar, sallick, pine grow in the basin of Khentii mountains. There are herbs such as apple manus, wild cherry, black currant, wild rose fruits, rare liquorice, hippobopae, and medical herbs such as plaintain, bergenia, rooseroot, thorniopsis. There are 16 species of protected fauna and birds, such as deer, does, elks, ibexes, wild sheep, swans and snowcocks. This aimag is rich in 30 species such as squirrels, marmots, foxes, corsas, bears and lynxes. There are many historic places, such as Noyon Uul, Gua dov, Terelj durvulj, Tonyukuk's grave, the verse of prince Tsogt on the black rock of the Duut, it is over 450 years old, and the remnants of the ancient cities of Hunnu, Uighur, Turkish Khanates. There are many deposits of coal, iron ore, lead, tungsten, rocky cristal, spar, turquoise, azurite, mica, chalcedony, tin, gold and copper. Total livestock is 1.551 thousand heads. The Tuv aimag produces 22 per cent of grain production, and 35 per cent of vegetable production of Mongolia.
