National Statistical Office of Mongolia

The NSO, as a public administrative institution in charge of official statistical activities with overall management and co-ordination at the national level, is directly accountable to the Parliament and reports its activities. And statistical departments and divisions in Governors of capital city and aimags report their activities to respective Governors.

The mission of the National Statistical Office

The mission of the National Statistical Office (NSO) is to serve the state, citizens and enterprises on equal basis and free from any political influence with reliable and accurate economic, social and population information based on scientifically feasible and acceptable approaches.

The structure of statistical system of Mongolia

The statistical office is defined as a state organization, which provides state, citizens and enterprises on equal basis with statistical data about economy, social issues and environment at national, regional, province, and capital city level. The statistical system of Mongolia consists of the National Statistical Office is in-charge of co-ordination of all official statistical activities and functions in Mongolia independently, statistical divisions at the Governors of the capital city, aimags and statistical units at the district Governors. An officer of a chancellery of soum and the Governor of bag and horoo is responsible for statistical activities. Officers in charge of statistical issues at the National Statistical Office, province, capital city, district statistical divisions and at soum level shall be state administration officers.
