The State Great Hural conducts its activities through various organizational forms such as plenary session, Standing Committees, ad hoc and sub-committees, party factions, etc. It summons twice a year. The spring session begins on 5th of April and autumn session begins on 1st of October. Each session lasts not less than 50 days.

The schedule of plenary sessions of the State Great Hural is as follows: session meetings are held on Thursdays and Fridays between 9:00-13:00 in mornings and 15:00-18:00 in afternoons. Meetings of political fractions are held on Mondays and of Standing Committees - on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The State Great Hural ratifies laws and other decisions only through its sessions. Regular sessions are convened every six months and last not less than 75 working days.
